ABOUT MQI

Overview

The Mobile Quran Institute (MQI) originated from the initiative of a group of Muslim students at KNUST who realized the struggle of their colleagues who did not have access to Quran studies before coming to the University. recognizing the struggle and assuming the responsibility on themselves to help teach their fellow brothers and sisters gave birth to this noble institution. MQI Initially focused on Quran recitation and Tajweed, MQI expanded its curriculum in response to student demand, introducing courses on Arabic Reading and Writing, Seerah, Hadeeth, and Fiqh. Operating primarily on weekends, MQI now serves students across three campuses –KNUST, KsTU, and AAMUSTED – aiming to provide accessible Quran and Islamic Studies education to tertiary students who may not have had previous exposure or require further enrichment.

MQI's overarching mission is to cultivate a cadre of future Muslim professionals equipped with a profound understanding of Islamic Sciences. The institute offers three classes tailored to students' varying needs and strength: the Beginner Class, catering to those requiring foundational Arabic reading and Quranic recitation skills; the Intermediate Class, designed for students seeking to refine and deepen their Islamic knowledge; and the Advanced Class, specifically accommodating graduates of home Madrasahs aiming to augment their studies and maintain their Quranic proficiency. Through its comprehensive and tailored approach, MQI endeavors to empower students with a holistic understanding of Islam, nurturing a generation of informed and devout Muslim professionals.
